IN THIS MOMENT's MARIA BRINK Thanks Haters For Inspiring 'Sex Metal Barbie' Video
May 7, 2015"Sex Metal Barbie", the new video from IN THIS MOMENT, can be seen below. The clip was directed by IN THIS MOMENT singer Maria Brink, who told Loudwire: "I am very excited about the release of the 'Sex Metal Barbie' video. Directing it was a liberating experience.
"When you write music that you are very passionate about, being able to bring the visual aspect of it alive with the music is what ties everything together.
"'Sex Metal Barbie' is all about rising above hate. I used other people's hatred to create this song and concepts."
She added: "I really wanted this video to convey that other people's perceptions of us are just their own twisted and warped views. I wanted a sarcastic and delusional visual to bring this video alive.
"Lastly, I want to thank all the people who feel compelled to express negativity toward us for all the inspiration. I couldn't have done it without them."
"Sex Metal Barbie" is taken from IN THIS MOMENT's fifth album, "Black Widow", which sold 36,000 copies in the U.S. during its first week of release to debut at No. 8 on The Billboard 200 chart.
As previously reported, IN THIS MOMENT released "Rise Of The Blood Legion – Greatest Hits (Chapter 1)" on May 5 in celebration of their first decade of work.
The album includes material from their first four studio albums, including "Prayers", "The Promise", "Blood" and "Adrenalize". Material from "Black Widow" album does not appear.
In addition, the album comes with a DVD featuring some of their greatest video hits.
The band began a U.S. headlining tour on April 17 in Portland, Maine and continue through late May, with several festival stops along the way.
